Maharaja was started in 2000 by award winning chef Vijay Biala as a family restaurant and we have since grown and are loved by locals. We have previously won best Indian Restaurant in the Christchurch Region. The restaurant is still run by the family and Vijay can be found in the kitchen. People's Choice Award means a lot to us as we have worked very hard to be where we are for the last 21 years in business. The restaurant is loved by the family because we all work hard and put our passion into our food away from home.
